BOTOX & DYSPORT | Tiny amounts of laboratory-made neurotoxin are injected with a very small needle into facial muscles that "fold" the skin causing wrinkles to form. Most of my clients prefer mild treatments of this kind that do not change their appearance, but only give them a more "relaxed" look. Treatments typically need to be repeated about every 3 months for the first 2 years, and then may be decreased in frequency as the facial muscles treated become less strong. TMJ disease and migraines also may be treated with great success by proper use of neurotoxins.

FILLERS | Volume loss is one of, if not the main cause of the aging appearance. As we mature, skin thins out, volume under the skin decreases, and the bones even shrink, (!). Fillers are therefore one of the most effective techniques to reverse this. As a very experienced practitioner, Dr. Irizarry evaluates all her clients to recommend an effective plan to lead to patient satisfaction. There are many different types of fillers, and she uses her expertise to get the best result possible by the correct choice of filler type, placement location, and placement technique. To reduce discomfort during the procedure, strong numbing cream is applied to the skin, she has an Artek "chiller" that cools the skin much as an ice pack does, and the fillers are combined with numbing medicines as well. Dr. Irizarry only administers the absorbable fillers Restalyne, Perlane, Juvederm, and Radiesse. These fillers vary in the support they give, how long they last, and the consultation will formulate a plan that works well for the client's appearance, as well as their budget. As a plastic Surgeon , Dr. Irizarry prides herself on improving a client's appearance and bring out their natural beauty without a "fake" look.

Matrix CO2 Laser | Laser resurfacing tightens skin by stimulating skin cells to increase collagen formation, and also leads to improvement in wrinkles, scars, texture, and pores. CO2 lasers are known to deliver into the skin the highest amount of "stimulating heat" of any type of laser. The Matrix CO2 laser used by Dr. Irizarry safely penetrates the skin with tiny columns of laser beams, ("fractional" treatment), that leaves most of the skin intact to promote rapid healing in 3-5 days. To keep discomfort to a minimum, a strong topical numbing cream is applied before the treatment, and during the laser procedure, the patient holds a tube that delivers a cooling subzero stream of air to the site of the laser treatment. Face and neck treatments typically take about 45 minutes to complete. Learn more in this Matrix Fractional CO2 Patient Education Brochure.
